Our customer is a Swiss multinational that operates all over the world and is one of the leading providers of innovative security and access solutions for selected segments of the fast-growing security industry. More than 15,000 employees and around 2 Billion Euros revenue.

This company maintains its worldwide technology leadership by constantly investing in innovation and product development.

They are establishing an IT Production center in Madrid and we’re hiring several profiles for them…

We’re just looking for a Senior Team Leader for the Java developers team (3 developers now that could be more in the future), with the following profile:

PERSONAL SKILLS REQUIEREMENTS AND JOB CONDITIONS

Job location: Madrid

Expected travel (after first introductory period):

For an initial ramp up phase of 2-3 months there will be a high amount of travelling to Austria and Switzerland (about 50%) in order to: Understand the business requirements. Learn about the software from the external developers. After that phase travelling for the lead developer will be about 2-3 days per month on average. Travelling only during the week.

Education and Training:

* University degree or equivalent on technical College or relevant related experience.
* Desirable to have any Java certification. Specially in the fields of:
+ Developing Applications for the Java EE 6 Platform
+ Java EE Design Patterns

Languages:
* Spanish: Native language, otherwise business fluent
* English: Very good Business English required (excellent communication skills).
* German: Desirable but not a must.

Organizational position: Reporting to: The head of IT software development (based in Switzerland).

Direct Reports # and type: 3 Developers based in Madrid.

Employment Type: Permanent Full Time.

Salary: Depending on experience

Expected Hiring Date: Immediately.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS REQUIEREMENTS

Purpose of the function:
Lead a team of 3 Java Developers based in Madrid who will be responsible to maintain, evolve and develop an in-house application with interfaces to SAP modules.

Description of the function:
We are seeking a passionate Java developer who thrives the further implementation of our in-house application for the technical order processing of door lock systems. The software interfaces closely with our SAP ERP system. It is a new solution, built for us by an external software company. The initial rollout of the software took place in Austria in April with further rollouts in Europe following over the next 5 years.

Key Responsibilities and tasks:
* Build up and lead an agile team of three other Java developers.
* Take the role of a Scrum master and instruct and guide your team members in Scrum.
* Take the responsibility for the technical architecture of the software.
* Work closely together with the product owner (based in Austria) to ensure optimum compliance with business requirements.
* Ensure top notch 3rd level support for your application.

Working Experience:
* 8 Years of Java SW development, SW Architecture, managing / coaching other Java developers.
* Long term Java development experience on Microsoft Windows (Java EE and SE (for the Desktop Client)).
* Agile / Scrum at Master level and Scrum related tools (at least one year of practical experience).
* Practical experience in following Java technologies: Spring, Hibernate, Swing/AWT, JDBC, JMS, WebServices, Microsoft SQL Server.
* A broad knowledge of software patterns, OO-design and 3-Tier architecture.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

* Mandatory skills:
+ Excellent communication skills in English
+ Service oriented.
+ Client focused.

* Additional skills non mandatory, but valuable for the position:
+ Knowledge of TIBCO enterprise messaging is a plus.
+ Knowledge of SAP ERP is a plus.

Leadership skills:
* Experience in management of internal & external resources.
* Experience in sub-project management.
* You enjoy coaching less experienced team members and you support a homogenous distribution of knowledge across the team.

Personal skills:
* Team oriented.
* Proactive and independent working.
* A desire for accountability and responsibility.
* Willingness for some travelling to Austria, Switzerland and other European countries to ensure optimum collaboration and software support.
