Hola a todos,
Tengo experiencia con PHP, javascript, y ahora quería empezar con Java. Quiero diseñar una aplicación similar a una calculadora científica. Me he estado leyendo unos tutoriales de Java con Netbeans. Lo que quiero es que el tamaño de los botones y las imágenes sea proporcional a la pantalla de manera que se pueda ver a pantalla completa y todo lleno. En html se usa el %, pero por lo visto en Java esto no existe. He estado buscando por Internet información sobre layouts, pero no he encontrado nada de como hacerlo.
Como sería la solución más correcta?

No sé si estás pensando en algo como el test siguiente:
