Foro sobre Java SE > cambiar color de un jpanel segun valor

Buenas, tengo un jpanel general que contiene 40 jpanel de pequeño tamaño simulando habitaciones de un hotel, como puedo hacer que cambie el color segun el estado de la habitacion (ocupada, sucia, limpia) muchas gracias anticipadas por la ayuda.
